Pac-Man Tilt (パックマンチルト Pakkumanchiruto) is a 2D platformer, developed by Namco Bandai Games and released for the Nintendo 3DS in 2011, as one of the included games in Pac-Man & Galaga Dimensions.
Gameplay
The player navigates Pac-Man through a bright, city-like environment, filled with flashy colors and effects. Pac-Man must reach the goal at the end of the stage, while collecting Pac-Dots and Fruit and avoiding Ghosts.
The main gimmick of the game, as the title implies, is the ability to "tilt" the 3DS like a steering wheel to control certain movement. Tilting the 3DS will make Pac-Man morph into a ball, allowing him to to roll down slopes and crush blocks. The system can also be tilted to move obstacles, such as swinging pendulums. Tilting also adjusts Pac-Man's speed, and is necessary to pass over some gaps. Standard movement (walking, jumping, etc.) uses a more traditional control method.
Pink-colored obstacles, such as springs and pinball flippers, can be activated by pressing the L or R button on the 3DS. Power Pellets can also be collected, allowing Pac-Man to eat the ghosts for a brief period of time.
Each stage also features a set number of Pac-Dots and fruit to collect, and the player will earn a ranking depending on how well they did on the level. There are 25 stages, and 5 "extra" stages can be unlocked by earning specific amounts of gold medals.
