The Jinjur Series is the tentative title given to a projected series of Internet-published Oz stories by Jonathan Markoff. The series focuses, as the name implies, on the character General Jinjur from L. Frank Baum's The Marvelous Land of Oz. Similar to March Laumer's novels, the stories display an eclectic knowledge of trivia from the canonical Oz books, but are written for adults rather than children, with a plethora of allusions to classical literature and popular culture, as well as scenes of explicit sexual content.
There are some notable inconsistencies with the canonical Oz books' timeline, which Markoff has described as "fanon discontinuity," wanting to produce a tribute without being bogged down by the "continuity traps" of Baum's weaker literary decisions.
As of March 2023, only one story, "I Am Jinjur," has been released. The author has said that they intend to produce additional entries in the series.
