Bisi, Dayo (sons) Efi Oladele (niece) |
Yewande is Efi's auntie, and mother of Bisi and Dayo. She is a very fashionable woman who is quick to criticize her family on proper etiquette.
Story
Yewande appears to be well off financially, able to afford numerous designer clothes. She and Fola have a rivalry of sorts when it comes to their children. Fola reguarly brags about Efi's achievements to her. Yewande, in turn, is willing to sing Dayo's praises.
Before the Omnic Crisis, as a teenager, Yewande practiced capoeira martial arts. Efi was interested in learning it from her, but due to the trauma of the conflict, Yewande did not like to talk about her life before the war. Instead, when she did visit her aunt, Efi usually got a talking-to.
Tragedy struck Yewande's family after Bisi graduated from high school. He ended up in debt to "some bad people," and when they'd come to collect it, they mistook Dayo for his elder brother. Dayo was beaten up, and Bisi disappeared. Yewande was enraged, and Efi noticed that over the following year, she refused to mention Bisi at all.
The year after Bisi's disappearance, Efi built Orisa. However, the robot made numerous mistakes. Yewande came to the Oladele home as part of a family intervention alongside Dayo and Efi's parents. Yewande suggested that Efi take on a "more appropriate hobby" such as drama (like Dayo, of course). Efi, retorting, let slip that Dayo had helped her procure a Branford arm for Orisa, much to Yewande's rage. She accused Efi of "corrupting" her cousin, and screamed at Dayo for dragging the family name through the mud like his brother had.[1]
