The Diamondbacks was a crime group based out of Deadlock Gorge. They were ultimately disbanded and folded into the Deadlock Rebels.
Background
The "toughest gang around" in the American southwest, the Diamondbacks used a snake symbol as their insignia, which they wore on their jackets. The gang was run by Marco, but the day-to-day operations were overseen by Benito Sanchez-Bez, the gang's second-in-command. Aware of their reputation, the Diamondbacks believed that any criminal should want to be part of their crew.
The Diamondbacks were based in Deadlock Gorge. It was far enough from Bellerae that the law left them alone, but close enough for them to make trouble when the time came. For all intents and purposes, they ran the gorge.[1]
History
The Diamondbacks operated in the years following the Omnic Crisis. They were led by Marco, who made a number of blunders, but was able to keep the gang in line through intimidation.
The Diamondbacks faced competition in the form of a gang led by "Calamity". To deal with the problem, the gang used Liu to set their rivals up at the Hopper, where he reneged on a payment, and instead led the Diamondbacks to confront their rivals. Marco told them that the heist they'd just performed would be their last. If not, well, there were plenty of holes in the desert to put bodies in. Calamity agreed to the terms.
One of Calamity's gang members, Julian, got into debt. The Diamondbacks bailed him out, in exchange for him informing them about his gang's leader, Calamity. Or, rather, Elizabeth Ashe. The Diamondbacks turned up at Lead Rose, crashing Ashe's eighteenth birthday celebration. Ashe had ignored Marco's orders to stop the heists, and Marco told her they were putting an end to it. They walked out in the face of B.O.B., but were able to kidnap Jesse McCree, and threw flaming bottles through the windows. The original plan had been to have McCree join them willingly, pretend to be kidnapped, and have Ashe use her funds to pay his ransom. However, the plan was further jeprodized when Ashe used those very funds to pay her bail money.
Ashe turned up at the gang's hideout, but was betrayed by Julian and captured. This left the Diamondbacks' original plan salvagable, as they could ransom Ashe off to her parents. However, this plan was in turn compromised by Frankie, who fooled the Diamondbacks into thinking that the police had arrived, causing them to scatter. Ashe and Marco got into a standoff, where Ashe offered the Diamondbacks a place in her gang. Every one of the Diamondbacks agreed, turning on Marco and joining Ashe's gang.[1]

Trivia
- The Diamondbacks are presumably named after the diamondback rattlesnake, given their snake logo and namesake.
- The size of the Diamondbacks can be inferred through comments made by Frankie, where she tells Ashe that they outnumber their gang five times over. As the size of the Deadlock Gang at the time was 4 (5 if one included McCree, who'd been kidnapped), their size can be estimated at being 20 to 25 individuals.
