Gerda is a character on ABC's Once Upon a Time. She was the former Queen of Arendelle and the mother of Anna and Elsa, and is portrayed by Pascale Hutton, with her younger self portrayed by Ava Marie Telek.
Biography
Background
Gerda and her sisters Helga and Ingrid grow up with a strong sisterly bond, and like Helga, is eager to keep Ingrid's ice powers secret. They grow up together, and when Ingrid wants to get rid of her powers, all three of them go to see Rumplestiltskin. He gives Ingrid some gloves that can contain her magic if she puts enough belief in it, but also hands them an urn as a failsafe of sorts. They return to Arendelle, but when Ingrid accidentally loses control and kills Helga, Gerda calls Ingrid a monster before trapping her inside the urn. She then goes to see Grand Pabbie and he takes away the memories of Ingrid and Helga away from everyone in Arendelle. Gerda eventually marries and has two daughters, Anna and Elsa. However, Elsa has ice powers just like Ingrid, prompting Gerda to take part in a voyage to a place known as Misthaven. Unfortunately, the ship gets caught up in a violent storm and the ship is claimed by the sea.
