King Fergus, nicknamed The Bear King, is a character on ABC's Once Upon a Time. He was the King of DunBroch, the wife of Elinor and the father of Merida, portrayed by Glenn Keogh.
Biography
Background
During a battle against the forces of Camelot, Fergus is slain by King Arthur, who plunges his sword through the Bear King and leaves Merida distraught.
Season 5
Merida is eventually given a magical ale by the Witch, which Merida pours on Fergus' grave, allowing his spirit to return briefly so that he and his daughter can say one last goodbye.
