Retepsian

Retepsians were a race of space flight-capable humanoids of the planet Retepsia. The only named Retepsian is Darulio, a forensic archaeologist employed by the Planetary Union.

Culture

According to Darulio, Retepsian culture considered it rude to decline offers of sexual intercourse.^[2]

Physiology

Retepsians were roughly the same height, shape, and physique as humans. Unlike humans, however, Retepsians were hairless, had blue skin and cleft ears, and featured a column of prominent ridges down the center of their foreheads.^{[n 1]} Their blue skin is the result of ferric iron in their hemoglobin.^[3]

Male Retepsians were known to eject a blue liquid from their foreheads during intercourse and, when in heat, produced a powerful pheromone through skin contact, which induced lust and mania.^{[n 1]}

Retepsians could emit a loud noise from their mouths, similar in sound to the squawk of a parrot or macaw.^{[n 2]}

• Gelatinous creatures like Lieutenant Yaphit were passive carriers of Retepsian pheromones.
• The biology of Retepsians was quite similar to that of the Orions from Star Trek (series), as both species possessed pheromones that they could use to seduce their victims.
• Retepsian fashion was sold in Outpost 47 in 2421.^[4]
• In an alternate timeline where Ed Mercer never became captain of the USS Orville, an unnamed Retepsian served on board the ship as helmsman.^[5]
