Description

They were wrong about the Oppsada. It does come out.— Ed Mercer (while speaking to Kelly Grayson)^[2]

The drink was a deep brownish or purplish hue and aged many years, similar to wine, with a thick viscosity, like syrup. Oppsada planted a parasite in the body of the drinker, and the subsequent growth and development of the parasite produced a pleasurable feeling in the host.

Oppsada was ideally aged nine years prior to pouring.

Trivia

• During a March 20, 2018 Season 2 sneak-peak of The Orville to members of the Academy, drinks of "Moclan Oppsada" were served. The ingredients were Jameson whisky, coffee, whipped cream, and a drizzle of green crème de menthe.^[3]
• The episode subtitles also spell the drink as "opsadda."
• Bortus seems to be drinking oppsada in Sanctuary while chatting with Kelly.
• In Mad Idolatry, Bortus, Klyden, and Ed drank oppsada aged nine years. Since the episode takes place in April and May 2420, the oppsada had been aged since 2411.
