Disney+ is an international online subscriber based video streaming service. It is wholly owned and operated by the Media and Entertainment Distribution division of the Walt Disney Company.
Disney+ is the exclusive international broadcaster for the third season of The Orville, New Horizons, which premiered on June 2, 2022. In the United States, the program releases on Hulu, but this service is not available internationally.
On July 23, 2022, it was announced at San Diego Comic Con that all three seasons of the series would also be made available on Disney+ in the United States beginning on August 10, 2022.[1] This is just under one week following the release of the third season finale, Future Unknown.
Creator Seth MacFarlane described the addition of the series to Disney+ in the United States as a "game changer" that could draw a new audience to the series and increase its chances of renewal for Season 4.[2]
Future Unknown was not made available upon the initial launch of the series on Disney+ in the United States. This was described as having been a "technical glitch" and was quickly rectified.[3]
On October 12, 2022, Disney+ posted a promotional video for New Horizons to its YouTube channel, highlighting the overwhelmingly positive critical reception for the season.
