Taiyo Oga (大賀太陽) is a main character in Oresuki, he is in love with Sumireko Sanshokuin and was once the target of affection of Aoi Hinata and Sakura Akino. He is a second year High School student and the ace of the school Baseball Club. Taiyo is also called by his nickname, Sun (サン) or most commonly as Sun-chan.
Appearance
Sun is a tall, fit male with short, spiky brown hair, he has slightly tanned skin and somewhat small eyes.
Baseball
When he plays baseball, Sun wears a white jersey with the number 1 printed on the back.
Kabuten
As a joke while preparing for the Kabuten dance, Sun wears a sleeveless turquoise dress with a yellow sash and feathery accessories.
Personality
Sun is a sporty boy who like to joke around with people, especially his friends, Joro and Himawari. He is a good leader, as shown after the baseball team's defeat when Sun put the blame on himself in an effort to reassure the other players, only to break down crying later in private.
Although normally a friendly, warm and sociable person he has a darker side to his personality, one that is grudgeful, petty, manipulative and prideful. Hurt over a girl he crushed over that in turn loved Joro instead, he devised a plan to ruin Joro's social reputation, by secretly pulling Himawari and Cosmos' strings all just to put Joro's name in the mud, to feel superior. He was further motivated to do so when he suspected than Pansy was in love with Joro, and followed with the plan purely out of spite. His darker emotions reached their peak when he allegedly threatened to assault Pansy.[1]
Ultimately he apologized for his behaviour and felt legitimately remorseful for his actions, doing his best to repent and reform when his friends told him they wanted to make up, something he truly desired to do as he felt the importance of what he had lost. Since amending his relationship with his friends he is back to his cheerful self and is shown to be more supportive and involved with them.
He is also shown to be competitive, refusing to stand back from a challenge.
Abilities
Athletic - As the ace pitcher of the Baseball Club, Sun is in very good shape.
