NULL is a character and NPC in OMORI. They are one of the many mysterious creatures residing within the DEEPER WELL of the UNDERWATER HIGHWAY.
PROFILE
APPEARANCE
NULL is a dark-blue creature covered in soggy green appendages that resemble vines and leaves. The only feature of their body that is exposed is one single eye peering through the leaves, most likely referencing the overall appearance of SOMETHING and MARI's hanged corpse.
PERSONALITY
Like the other DEEPER WELL residents, NULL appears to be aware of the truth surrounding the existence of HEADSPACE and by extension, the truth regarding MARI's death. NULL appears to be intrigued by humanity's nature to bounded to their limits and fate, questioning OMORI what defines him as a human being.
STORY
TWO DAYS LEFT
Within DEEPER WELL, NULL appears on a large island connected by the left whirlpool portal and one of the LARGE FACE entrances. When speaking to them as OMORI, NULL when comment on how humans are bounded to their limits, while questioning what defines him as a human. Speaking to them with any other party member will simply lead to them only hearing mumbling.
ONE DAY LEFT
After saving BASIL from BLACK SPACE and resetting HEADSPACE on the OMORI ROUTE, all DEEPER WELL residents (excluding HUMPHREY and CIPHER) appear to have vanished entirely.
However, when re-entering PINK BEACH by using a secret entrance within NORTH LAKE, the empty husk of NULL can be found alongside the other missing NPCs from DEEPER WELL.
When inspecting NULL's corpse, the text will reveal that they are not alive, most likely stripped of their consciousness due to knowing too much about the truth.
