FAMILIAR DOLL is a character and NPC in OMORI. It is a mysterious doll devoid of any special features that appears in one of the hotel rooms on the second floor of the LAST RESORT.

APPEARANCE
The FAMILIAR DOLL is a dull-looking doll with gray highlights and an empty face. It doesn't possess any special features that make it stand out. However, if the doll is thrown away a total of three times, it will permanently alter its appearance. Its altered form greatly resembles SUNNY, complete with similar apparel that the former wears along with a knife stabbed through its left arm.
PERSONALITY
Not much can be inferred about the FAMILIAR DOLL's personality. Given that it is capable of examining anyone's features and altering its appearance to resemble them, the doll itself is rather observant and enigmatic in demeanor.
STORY
The FAMILIAR DOLL only appears in a hotel room on the second floor of the LAST RESORT. It can be found sitting on a bed, motionless and devoid of any features. When inspecting the doll, the player is then given a prompt as to whether they want to throw it away or let it stay there. Note that letting the doll remain on the bed will not affect anything in the game.
However, a special event can occur if the player chooses to throw it away. Doing so will lead to the FAMILIAR DOLL being tossed in the trash. Inspecting it from there reveals that it is examining OMORI's features. If the group returns to the room after throwing it in the trash three separate times, the FAMILIAR DOLL will now resemble SUNNY in appearance.
After defeating HUMPHREY on all routes of the game, interacting with the doll will give the group the option to look into its hollowed eyes for a one-time-only event. Upon accepting, OMORI will be transported to a dark-pitched room with red illuminating light, known as FACES OF OMORI. This is one of the few rooms found within the HAUNTED TREES HANGING MAZE, a hidden BLACK SPACE location.

TRIVIA
- The FAMILIAR DOLL's altered form resembling SUNNY possibly alludes to one of the NEUTRAL ENDINGS, where the latter chooses to kill himself by stabbing himself with a knife in his sleep.
- The overall location the FAMILIAR DOLL can transport OMORI to may also serve as a hint to SUNNY's alter ego being detrimental to his well-being.
- In the game's data and files, the FAMILIAR DOLL is sometimes referred to as Faceless Doll or Doll.
- In one of the text files, the FAMILIAR DOLL is labeled as Haunted Hotel Doll, Creepy Doll, and Omori Doll. These names can be found in the language file titled xx_map_expansion.
