BONES is a character and NPC in OMORI. Two of them can be found rotting away within the DUNGEON of SWEETHEART'S CASTLE. They are not to be confused with other skeletons identical to them.
PROFILE
APPEARANCE
BONES is a plain skeleton chained up against a wall. It is unknown what they originally looked like, but they note that due to being imprisoned for a long time, they can no longer move by themselves. It is also noteworthy that they are identical to the other skeletons found throughout HEADSPACE.
PERSONALITY
BONES is shown to be melancholic as a result of being trapped and locked up in SWEETHEART's DUNGEON for a long time. They also appear quite apathetic as they cannot find any motivation to free themselves as they are already dead.
STORY
BONES can only be found within THE DUNGEON of SWEETHEART'S CASTLE, chained up to a wall for unexplained reasons. One thing to note is that there are actually two BONES NPCs located in the shadowy area. Both can be interacted with to obtain a tag reward using HERO tagged as the leader. If spoken with by any party member that is not HERO, BONES will inform the group of their current situation before questioning them about the looks on their faces.
The first BONES is directly found in the southeast cell next to the cell holding the I Key for the HANGMAN. That dungeon cell contains a heart-shaped switch that can be pressed to access the I Key, a trapdoor leading to the UNDERGROUND DUNGEON, and a toilet containing RAMEN. When spoken to by HERO, BONES recalls the time the former helped them defeat an evil demon king in the past. They then reward him with 300 CLAMS from their right eye socket, not before encouraging HERO to continue his heroic deeds.
The second BONES is found within the third dungeon cell, located right next to CAPT. SPACEBOY's former dungeon cell. That dungeon cell is also near the TORTURE ROOM and a trapdoor leading to the same aforementioned area. Once HERO speaks to them, this BONES recalls the time HERO once again helped defeat the reincarnation of the same demon king a while back. They will proceed to reward him with 301 CLAMS from their left eye socket.

- BONES is one of the two characters within SWEETHEART'S CASTLE that gives out a tag reward when spoken to with HERO tagged as the leader, though there are two BONES that give out tag rewards. The other character consists of TIFFANY DARLING within THE ROYAL GALLERY.
- BONES bears a heavy resemblance to the many skeletons found throughout the game. This extends to the ones that eerily resemble corpses of the main playable characters, notably AUBREY? from THE ABYSS.
