Secretaries are a type of enemy that appear through random encounters in Purified Zones. The Secretaries also get more powerful in each Zone. They are stated by Mortis Ghost to be the reason as to why the Purified Zones are so desolate and empty, as they killed all of its inhabitants.
In order to reach a Purified Zone, the player must first purify the Guardian of the Zone then later return to it from The Nothingness.
Appearance
Described as diabolical, humanoid figures, they look wildly different from any other specter seen in the game, and appear to be mutilated, deformed babies wearing odd luchador clothing. The Secretaries gradually appear more strange and mutilated in Zone 2, even more so in Zone 3.
They also seem to be a lot more vicious than the already violent average Specters, as they have been stated to have killed almost all inhabitants within the Purified Zones.
In Battle
Secretaries are a few of the strongest opponents in the world of OFF, with their stats increasing throughout the Zones. They are, however, weak against special and plastic attacks. Defeating them will give the player a chance drop of Fortune Tickets in the 1st and 2nd Zones or Abaddons' Meat in the 3rd Zone. The player will have to defeat them in order to find 3 of the 5 Grand items.

- The Secretaries all appear to be in a fighting stance similar to that of a boxer, which means they may be related with the Boxxer in Hugo's "Panic in Ballville" comic.
- While the Zone 3 Secretaries' game sprite makes their face look horribly mutilated, the concept arts show that they're actually wearing a luchador's mask.
- The secretaries look like babies born with a syndrome called Arthrogryposis. This is more noticeable in the concept art.
- All Secretary competences are related to maths: A natural logarithm is the inverse function to the exponential function (with base e); A logical value (or truth value) is a true/false value which describes the 'truth' state of some condition (called a predicate); a derivation describes the process of finding a function's derivative (which measures the rate of change of a function's graph relative to one of its inputs); an oblique asymptote describes a slanted line indicating the line which a graph approaches as its input approaches some value (or infinity); and division by zero is a commonly known example of an operation which is (typically) undefined. Notably, many of these involve the concept of infinity.
