Steel Empire is a scrolling shooter that was originally released on the Genesis by HOT B. It has a steampunk aesthetic. It was ported to the Game Boy Advance in 2004. In 2014, the game was remade on the Nintendo 3DS. On the Nintendo Switch, the original Genesis and Game Boy Advance versions were compiled with Over Horizon as Over Horizon X Steel Empire. The 3DS version was improved with HD graphics on the Switch as The Legend of Steel Empire.
