Rocky Road is a 2-vs.-2 minigame in Mario Party 6, Mario Party: The Top 100, and Mario Party Superstars. The name is a reference to the idiom of the same name, which describes a person's difficult journey to success.
The minigame takes place on a cliffside road where Shy Guy (or Toad in both Mario Party: The Top 100 and Mario Party Superstars) drives a car along the road and stops at the boulders periodically.
Gameplay
The teams must work together to get rid of the boulders so the Shy Guy or Toad can continue on their way. In Mario Party 6, players must be careful not to hit their teammate, as when the boulders are destroyed, they cannot proceed until their teammate recovers.
There are five sets of boulders: Three of them are small boulders, one of them are two medium-sized boulders, and the last one is a large boulder that takes longer to destroy. To win, the team must reach the end of the road where Shy Guy will pick up their friend and continue on their way, in which the winners will wave out the window.
In both Mario Party: The Top 100 and Mario Party Superstars, Toadette will get into the car with Toad driving off shortly after.
If there is no winner after five minutes, the minigame will end in a tie.
