Owlboy is a 2D platformer that is set in the sky. The player plays as Otus, one of the last of the Owls, which created several of the world's wonders. He is capable of flight and meets many companions along his journey. It released for the Nintendo Switch in February 2018 with a retail release that spring. The game was originally in development for 10 years.

As Otus, the play can fly around the levels carrying objects to solve puzzles and defeat enemies. Throughout his journey, he meets with various allies. These allies have different weapons and behaviors which can solve different puzzles.
