Naga

Naga is a recurring character in the Fire Emblem series. She is the leader of the Divine Dragons and is often hailed as a deity by humanity. She has been responsible for the creation of many divine items including the Falchions and the Shield of Seals. Her blood is mark of royalty.

History

Several millenia prior to the history of man, Naga was the ruler of the Divine Dragon tribe, a group of the mightiest dragons in Archanea. Along with the other dragon tribes, they established a kingdom across the continent. The divine dragons eventually decided to bestow their knowledge on the new species of humans, allowing them to create their own civilization.

However, one of Naga's advisor, Duma grew paranoid of them and destroyed the kingdom with his soldier. Naga grew furious learning about this, resulting in a violent clash. Duma and his sister Mila led the forces against Naga resulting in a nine day battle and catastrophic damage across the land. Naga had been injured, with her fangs being splintered. Naga banished Duma and Mila for their crimes, though out of mercy, she gave them one of her fangs, carved into a blade called the Kingsfang.

Jugdral

Archanea

As the dragons began to decline, Naga and other dragons figured that they were destined to fade with humans taking their place. She and the rest of the Divine Dragon tribe sealed their power within Dragonstones and became Manakete. Several dragons did not heed the warning and started to degenerate, with the Earth Dragon tribe starting to attack humans out of spite. Naga joined the humans and defended them, forcing them into a deep sleep. She forged another of her fangs into the Shield of Seals to ensure the Earth Dragons would not wake again. To guard it, she put the remaining Earth Dragon, Medeus, in charge of it. Shortly before her death, she put her daugther, Tiki, into a deep sleep to prevent her from going mad from her power, with Divine Dragon Gotoh watching over humanity in her place.

In the remake, Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon, it is suggested that the new character, Nagi, is a reincarnation of Naga, if not Naga herself, She gives Marth a weaker Falchion in place of the original one.
