Lark

Lark is a playable character in Pilotwings 64. He bears a resemblance to Nester from the Nintendo Power magazine. He is one of two lightweight characters in the game.

To quote the Pilotwings 64 manual:

"Lark: He's small, but very courageous. He moves fast, but is effected by wind because of his small size."

Apperance

Lark is a human with a warm skin complexion and orange tuffs of hair. His facial features are on the top half of his round head. He has round brown eyes, a spheical nose and a thin, wavy, smiling mouth that extends across his face. At both sides of his mouth are two brown lines. His eyebrows are arched and thick, and he has two long tuffs of hair out the right side of his head.

When wearing his casual clothes, he bears a red cap with the brim at the right side above his ear. He wears a black, short sleeved turtleneck with the number "28" written in white with bright yellow gloves. The significance of this number is unknown and appears in many of his outfits.

When wearing his pilot uniform, he bears a white helmet with a red brim and white strap around his chin. His turtleneck is white, long sleeved, and has a red, six sided shape with the number "28" written in white. His leggings are deep blue and there are black straps across his knees, thighs, shoulders, elbows, and has a black belt with a silver buckle. His trainers are red with white soles.

His low-poly model, which is used in gameplay videos when spending too long on the opening screen, wears a black turtleneck, blue leggings, and red shoes. His gloves are white instead of yellow, and there is no number on his top and it is sleeveless.

His voice has been described as sounding similar to Toad from the Mario series. His voice actor is Kathryn Cahill, who also voices Robin and Ibis, and who would much later do voice work for Pokemon. His voice lines include a "yahoo" exclamation, which is seen in the character introduction video. The other is a long, high pitched scream when you crash.
