The Bombchu is a recurring weapon in The Legend of Zelda series, first appearing in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. It is a clockwork bomb shaped like a mouse that skuttles along floors, walls and ceilings until it reaches its target or explodes. Unlike other bombs, it automatically travels in a direction without having to be thrown.

The bombchus are first introduced in this game but they are usually limited. Link can only hold 50. Some are found in chests but the more guaranteed methods are
- There is a Bombchu Shop open at night in the Back Alley of Castle Town, although their stock is limited
- The Bombchu Bowling Alley can give out Bombchu as one of the random prizes Link wins
- After gathering 40 Gold Skulltula Tokens, Link can receive some Bombchu from the fourth son at the House of Skulltula in Kakariko Village.
- Bombchu can be bought from the Carpet Merchant in the Haunted Wasteland. He sells packs of 10 Bombchu for 200 Rupees
The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
In this game, they are more easily obtainable at the Bomb shop at a rate of 10 for 40 rupees though there's a max of 40 in this game. Bombchus can also be collected in chests in hidden caves that can be revealed with explosions.
Oracle games
In these games, they function differently in that they home in on their target. They travel in a straight line if they have no target. They can only be unlocked if the two games are linked through the Subrosian Secret or the Troy Secret. Syrup will then sell them at a rate of 100 rupees for 5 Bombchu with a cap of 99.
The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
The bombchus in this game are found in the Goron Temple. Link can only carry 10 initially but after two more bags, he has a max of 30. Their function has massively changed in this entry, with them following a path drawn by Link. The bombchus can go through small holes but they will explode if they come in contact with anything else. While the Bombchu us active, the player can still move. The bombchus also travel slower than before.
Hyrule Warriors
These bombs appear in the Eldin Caves stage where players guide giant versions of them to blow up giant rocks and pillars to make pathways for their forces.
Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U
These appear as an explosive item. Bombchus act similarly to Hotheads in that they stick to a platform, trying to hit an opponent and explode. After several seconds, the bombchus will glow and explode on its own if no opponent touches it.
Trophy Description
These mouse-shaped bombs crawl on the ground, up walls, and even along ceilings. If you toss one, it will scurry along until it hits an opponent and explodes. They won't blow up you or your friends—so user friendly! They will blow up if struck, though, so be careful.
