Kensi Marie Blye is an NCIS Special Agent assigned to the NCIS Office of Special Projects in Los Angeles, California.
She is also the partner and wife of LAPD Detective-turned-NCIS Investigator Marty Deeks with her former partner being Junior NCIS Special Agent Dominic Vail who was abducted, and killed months later when the team attempted to rescue him. By the end of the show, after trying fertility treatments, Kensi found out she's pregnant.
Biography
Pre-Series
Born on July 29, 1982 in San Diego, California, Kensi was the only child of both Marine Donald Blye and civilian Julia Feldman, with Donald being stationed in numerous bases during Kensi's childhood such as Camp Pendleton and Camp Lejeune.
Donald later taught young Kensi how to track, shoot, fix an engine, play poker, and wire a house with Kensi regarding him as her best friend.
When her father was stationed at Camp Lejune, she met and became friends with Anna Kline with the two remaining friends into adulthood.
When Kensi was fifteen years old, presumably in 1997, Donald was murdered in what was originally thought to have been a car accident with his body being so unrecognizable that dental records were needed to confirm his identity. Unfortunately, with no new leads, the case quickly went cold.
Following her father's murder, Kensi became estranged from her mother for the next fifteen years and spent almost a year living on the streets.
Kensi attended Cornell University, ultimately graduating with a BA in Politics and International Studies. During her time in college, she also played softball.
She then subsequently chose to join NCIS or the Naval Criminal Investigation Service which she did so in August 2003.
Upon receiving training from FLETC, Kensi's first posting was the Washington DC Office which occurred from December 2006 to September 2007.
After that, she was reassigned to the Tokyo 7th Fleet from October 2007 to March 2008.
At some point, she arrested criminal David Kessler.
Following on from that, she was stationed at the Norfolk Naval Base in Virginia from March 2008 to June 2009.
In June 2009, Kensi was assigned to what would become her permanent assignment: the Office of Special Projects in Los Angeles and where she remains to this day.
NCIS Season 6
Kensi made her debut appearance in the NCIS Season 6 episode, Legend (Part 1) (episode).
NCIS: Los Angeles Season 1

Kensi appeared in the NCIS: Los Angeles Season 1 premiere episode, Identity (episode) where she was first seen talking to someone on her phone in Portuguese.
After finishing the phone call, she joined her colleagues in greeting NCIS Special Agent G. Callen who had unexpectedly returned a month early to work before the group headed upstairs to have a conference call with NCIS Director Leon Vance.
NCIS: Los Angeles Season 2
It is revealed in Disorder (episode) that she was once engaged to a Marine named Jack Simon, but that their relationship ended after his return from Iraq suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and his subsequent disappearance. Kensi tried to be there for him, but all of her efforts weren't enough since Jack was too affected. It is said that he eventually left her without even telling her. She is even shown crying in the interrogation room to the suspect. Although Deeks and Kensi have a somewhat antagonistic relationship at first, they have warmed up considerably over time, and she was visibly concerned when Deeks was shot in Personal (episode). Kensi asks Hetty if she can stay with Deeks in the hospital rather than assist in the investigation of his shooting, as she didn't want to risk not seeing him alive again, as had happened with Dom. Deeks is also a flirter and he has demonstrated some interest in Kensi on a personal level. In the The Job (episode), while undercover, she had to flirt with a good-looking thief. Deeks showed jealousy, as noted by Callen and Sam.
Kensi is visibly annoyed sometimes when Deeks flirts with other women or when he attempts to use her as a wingman. During some episodes, though, Kensi appears slightly jealous when Deeks flirts with other women or when they come across someone he once had feelings for while undercover. Over time it becomes obvious that Kensi is developing feelings for Deeks, though she often hides them. Like Deeks, Kensi also has a Comic Book Collection. In Plan B (episode), Kensi earns the nickname “Wikipedia” for her encyclopedic knowledge. In Familia (episode), Kensi resigns from NCIS along with Callen and Sam in order to follow Hetty's trail to Prague without Director Vance's authorization.
