Shueisha, Inc. (株式会社集英社 Kabushiki Kaisha Shūeisha, lit. Shueisha Publishing Co., Ltd.) is a major publisher in Japan. The company was founded in 1925 as the entertainment-related publishing division of Japanese publisher Shogakukan. The following year, Shueisha became a separate, independent company.
Shueisha publishes several magazines, including Cookie the magazine that Nana was originally serialized in until it's hiatus. Shueisha also publishes Ribon the magazine that serialized many of Ai Yazawa's earlier works.
