Oroshibue

Oroshibue (颪笛, oroshibue?, lit. winter wind whistle) are string-like mushi that appear in mountainous regions in large groups and mimic a cold, whistling wind blowing down from a mountain in winter. They are fast and their movement resembles a snake's.

Oroshibue are most active during midwinter, then migrate north as a group once the temperature begins to warm and melt the snow. A swarm of oroshibue resembles white smoke or a stratocumulus cloud moving through the sky.
