He appeared in three movies with his wife of eleven years, Nicole Kidman: Days of Thunder, Far and Away, and Eyes Wide Shut. - Cruise was one of several celebrities suggested to be paired with Miss Piggy during The Pig of the Nineties marketing campaign.
- According to Rizzo the Rat during the audio commentary for Muppets from Space, Cruise and his then-wife Nicole Kidman were meant to play the film's Cosmic Fish, but they couldn't find fish costumes in their sizes.
- A Tom Cruise Muppet appears in an episode of From the Balcony. In the same episode, Loni Dunne attempts to interview the "real" Tom Cruise, who is excitedly jumping up and down on a sofa (referencing his infamous 2005 appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show).
- Kermit the Frog says he'd like to work with Cruise in a March 2012 interview with Entertainment Tonight because "he and I are about the same size."
- Cruise is listed among a number of leading men that the writers of Up Late with Miss Piggy attempt to couple with Piggy in The Muppets episode "Hostile Makeover."
- A reader-submitted interview for The Guardian in December 2022 asks if Fozzie Bear is, like Tom Cruise, a very small bear. Fozzie responds, "Tom Cruise is a bear? I didn’t know that. I’ve got to go see his movies again. You’d think I’d notice something like that."
