The Princess Bride is a 1973 fantasy novel by William Goldman that was adapted as a film by Rob Reiner in 1987. It tells the story of a young woman who becomes separated from her one true love. The novel is presented as an abridgment of a longer work; similarly, the movie is framed with a plot involving a man who reads the story to his grandson.
