"Stranger" is a Sesame Street song, with animation by Michael Sporn.
The segment musically tells the story of a young baseball team in Central Park, who are falling behind in their practice game and the crowd turns on them. Suddenly, the titular stranger - a boy in a cowboy hat, arrives on the field and wishes to play. Although the team initially rejects him, one player suggests they take up his offer. Sure enough, the new player impresses the crowd with his catching skills. He remains on the team all season, earning them "exceptional fame."
