Red Buttons (1919-2006) was a comedian and actor who received the Academy Award for Best Supporting actor in 1957, for his dramatic role in Sayonara. He was one of many Hollywood stars who appeared in the 1979 special The Muppets Go Hollywood.
On the big screen, Buttons played Martin in The Poseidon Adventure, and television cameos include Little House on the Prairie, ER, Wonder Woman, The Love Boat, and the 1985 all-star television movie of Alice in Wonderland.
