Psych

Psych-708

Psych is a comedic mystery series which ran on the USA Network from 2006-2014, focusing on purported psychic Shawn Spencer who uses his actual observational and memory skills (and more levelheaded partner Gus) to help the police solve crimes.

Muppet Mentions

  • In the second season episode "Shawn (and Gus) of the Dead," Shawn refers to a sarcophagus as a Snuffleupagus.
  • In the third season episode "Earth, Wind and... Wait for It," Gus says he tailed the fire chief while he had a picture framed of him, John Denver, and the Muppets. "Muppets?" "Gonzo was the shot, boy."
  • In the fifth season episode "Yang 3 in 2D," Gus and Shawn attempt to stall Mr. Yin's attempts at killing them by getting him to explain his "backstory." Gus says, "We just appreciate a little closure before we say goodbye to Grover’s Corners for the last time." While the line alludes to the play Our Town, a confused Shawn wonders, "What is that, a Sesame Street reference?"
  • During Shawn's imagined scenario in the seventh season episode "Right Turn or Left for Dead," Juliet tells him she loves him more than Joanie loved Chachi, kids love Trix, and Bert loved Ernie. Allegedly."
