"Poor Sad Dog" is an aria performed by Renata Scotty in Sesame Street Episode 3518.
Renata sings the song to Big Bird as a sample of her dog-themed works when she is reminded how sad she is that she can't find something she's longed for - a piano player to accompany her. The song, though, is about a dog who wishes they had a bone to chew on.
"Poor Sad Dog" is based on the song "Donde Lieta Usci" from La Bohème by Giacomo Puccini. Of course, the Muppet parody comes from La Bone-em by Poochini.
