Peek-a-boo

3049d

Peek-a-boo (or peekaboo) is a form of play often played with an infant. To play, one hides their face, pops back into the view of the other, and says "peek-a-boo!", sometimes followed by "I see you!." Peek-a-boo uses a basic joke-like structure of surprise, balanced with expectation. The game is thought by developmental psychologists to demonstrate an infant's inability to understand object permanence.
