I Love You

I Love You was a Valentine's Day variety special aired over NBC on February 14, 1978, in which celebrities offered "different perspectives on love," including comedy spots and musical numbers.[1] Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch were among the group.

Other celebrities included Edgar Bergen and Mortimer Snerd, Phyllis Diller, David Brenner, and Steve Garvey. Most were stars of then-current NBC series: Telly Savalas (Kojak), Ed McMahon and Doc Severinsen (The Tonight Show), Paul Lynde (Hollywood Squares), Melissa Gilbert (Little House on the Prairie), Jack Albertson and Gabriel Melgar (Chico and the Man), Don Rickles (CPO Sharkey), and Bill Hayes and Susan Seaforth (Days of Our Lives).
