Gidget

Dogzillagoeshawaiian

Gidget is a franchise centering on the title character, a teenage surfer girl and her friends on the beach. Originating in the 1957 novel Gidget, the Little Girl with Big Ideas, the first film version Gidget was released in 1959, followed by two sequels (notably 1961's Gidget Goes Hawaiian, spawning a phrase which would often be referenced in pop culture).

The 1965 Gidget TV series revived the character, followed by TV movies, a Hanna-Barbera special, and the 1985 series The New Gidget.
