Officer Frank Meany is an airport security guard seen in the television special Letters to Santa. He works alongside Bobo the Bear.
Officer Meany is bitter and rude, which, the Muppets discover, is because of his being a bully as a child, which in turn led to his getting on Santa's naughty list and denying him the red tricycle he wanted for Christmas.
In an attempt to get on the good list, he lets the Muppets pass through security to deliver their letters to Santa. He had written a letter to Santa asking to get off the naughty list, a wish that is granted by Santa because of his gesture.
Notes
- Stanley Tucci was originally cast in the role, but had to drop out shortly before his scenes could be filmed. Tucci's agent, who also represented Nathan Lane, recommended Lane for the part instead.[1]
