Eugene Byrd (b. 1975) played Jelani on Sesame Street as a young man, from 1990 to 1991. He also portrayed a young Gordon in a fantasy sequence in Episode 2621.
He has since appeared in the film 8 Mile and many TV guest appearances, including Law & Order, ER, The Cosby Show and NYPD Blue.
