SCENE 1 | Snuffy comes across Gordon and Susan congratulating Big Bird for doing something unbelievable: sleeping in his nest all night long! Snuffy is confused as he does that all the time, but Big Bird says that isn't true. As it is shown in a flashback, Big Bird (with Radar) arrives at Gordon and Susan's apartment one night after hearing a strange sound; it turns out just to be his snoring that scares him. He worries about waking himself up again and wants to sleep with them. Despite Gordon thinking this might turn into a habit, he and Susan allow him to stay, though Big Bird takes up most of the room in the bed and accidentally pushes Gordon out. Back in the present, Big Bird says that was just the beginning and it's time for Susan and Gordon to take him to the swings in the park, telling Snuffy it's also a part of his story. |

SCENE 2 | Gordon pushes Big Bird on the swing as he continues his story for Snuffy. He recounts that during the next night, he wanted to sleep in Susan and Gordon's bed again - not because he is scared, but because he was just lonely. He is seen making some room for himself, and tries to negotiate by agreeing to go back to his nest after having some water, birdseed crackers, and a story. Just as Gordon and Susan have gathered everything, they find Big Bird has already fallen asleep. Back in the park, Gordon, Susan, and Big Bird reveal that this continued to happen night after sleepless night. Big Bird pauses from his story so Susan can have a turn pushing him. "Oh, Bird, you sure know how to spin a yarn," Snuffy admires. |

SCENE 4 | Snuffy still doesn't understand how the swings fit into everything that has been told to him, so Big Bird explains as he closes his story. Yesterday, Gordon and Susan awake after sleeping in Big Bird's nest again, but are too tired to take him to the park to play on the swings. He learns they haven't been able to sleep for days and worries they'll never play with him again, so Gordon makes a compromise: if Big Bird promises to sleep in his nest by himself for one night, he and Susan will play with him all day long. Big Bird agrees and goes back to sleep, thinking nighttime will come sooner. Back in the present, Snuffy is able to put the pieces together and Big Bird says that all the swinging has tired him out. He jokes about sleeping with Gordon and Susan again before heading with Snuffy to his nest for a nap. Gordon and Susan stay behind at the swings and announce the sponsors and state that Slimey's spaceship is still on its way to the moon before leaving for a nap of their own. |
