The Eidelons are an ancient alien species on Farscape. They inhabit the planets Arnessk and Qujaga. Some named Eidelons include Yondalao, Muoma, Pikal, and Caa'ta.

Eidelons are renowned for their ability to influence peace over others, called Hora Dalay. This is done through their inner eye, which is actually a special gland. The gland creates an energy field that has a calming effect on individuals, allowing them to see reason.

History

27,000 years ago (at "the dawn of our period of usefulness," according to Yondalao), the Eidelons decided they needed a guard to keep the peace across the galaxy. They found a primitive species (implied to be humans) and accelerated their evolution. Thus, the Peacekeepers were born.

Then, 12,000 years ago, Arnessk was attacked by unnamed "enemies of peace." The Darnaz Triangle was fired upon the planet, and the Eidelons, as well as their temple, disappeared. Following this, the Peacekeepers, lacking the Eidelons' guidance, devolved into a militaristic organization.

Another group of Eidelons live in secrecy on Qujaga. They revere the Eidelons of Arnessk and even based their own temple on the one at Arnessk, but they have lost the ability to practice Hora Dalay; their third eye is now vestigial.

The Arnesskian Eidelons are revived by the Moya crew in "Resurrection," in which it's revealed that they were simply frozen in time.

The Peacekeeper Wars

During the Peacekeeper-Scarran War, the Arnesskian Eidelons are approached by the Moya crew to help end the war. Via Stark, the Arnesskian Eidelons' power of Hora Dalay is given to the Qujagan Eidelons. After John Crichton launches his wormhole weapon, peace is finally brokered, and the Eidelons oversee the signing of the peace treaty.

However, the Eidelons don't come out of the war unscathed. The Scarrans blow up the Eidelons' Arnessk temple, wiping out all who lived there. Many Qujagan Eidelons are also killed, and Qujaga itself is destroyed.

Farscape comic

In the Farscape comic book arc "The War for the Uncharted Territories," it is said that Stark brought the now-homeless Eidelons to Delvia.

To defeat the Kkore, Stark serves as a conduit to combine the powers of the Eidelons and the Dej-Wah.
