Dermot is a dog who appears in the Mopatop's Shop episode "Flea Power," where he is looking for a good scratch. At first Mopatop and Puppyduck have difficulties locating a good scratch for him; they try a feather duster and a tail warmer but they don't work. At last, they notice the box with the jumping fleas. Dermot ends up convincing the fleas that they should go home with him and help him get the scratch that he loves so much.
The dog puppet would return as Captain Woof in the episode "Ship Ahoy."
The puppet previously appeared in The Muppet Christmas Carol and was used as a background dog on The Animal Show. It was recycled again as Fidget on the Australian series Bambaloo.
