Dallas was a prime-time soap opera which ran from 1978 until 1991, focusing on the oil-rich Ewing clan (and especially unscrupulous patriarch J. R.) The series was known for its cliffhangers and stunts, notably the "Who Shot J. R.?" question of 1980. It spawned a spin-off (Knots Landing), TV movies, and a 2012-2014 revival.
Muppet Mentions
- During the third season of Dallas, a plush Cookie Monster hangs on the wall of Baby John's nursery, first seen in the two-part premiere "Whatever Happened to Baby John?" It remains in the background for most of the season.
