Aunt Sue is Elmo's aunt. She helps Elmo and his mommy bake Christmas cookies in the book Elmo's Delicious Christmas. Sue is dismayed when Elmo wants to bake sardine cookies for Oscar the Grouch, but she helps him make the special cookies.
Aunt Sue has a strong family resemblance to Elmo -- much more so, in fact, than his mother or father do.

- The illustration of Aunt Sue originally appeared as Elmo's mother in A Grouch's Christmas, the book that Elmo's Delicious Christmas was repurposed from, since Mae was later redesigned.
