Letha was a village of outcasts beyond the Border Citadel of Keld, located on the island of Icehaven, part of the Domains of Dominaria.[1]

Description

On any good map of Keld, the village of Letha lay two days’ march south of the Parman border, nestled between two of the most forbidding peaks on the continent of Icehaven. Keldon warriors joked that to find Letha, you had to be born there, and most of those born there had either fled or frozen to death trying to get out. The silent, sleeping village overlooked the coldest, most treacherous, and least-traveled passage north from Keld. The ice never melted, the winds never ceased, and the nearby mountains shrugged off their snowy shrouds in springtime at the merest whisper. Its buildings covered less than half an acre, and its permanent population numbered fewer than fifty. In truth, Letha was little more than a way station for travelers to and from the Border Citadel, ten days' march to the west.[1]

History

After his first encounter with the blue dragon Skouras, Astor fled with six warriors south to Letha. Astor took advantage of this respite and retreated to the closest village, Letha. He carefully considered what had happened and used the villagers to bolster his diminished troops. When Skouras tracked Astor down, he had devised a plan. Using the village as a tinder, he detonated most of the buildings, rendering Skouras earthbound. Soon Skouras found Astor and, as he had before, began to invade the warlord's mind. Astor was prepared for this though, as he had taught the Lethans a ritual of fire magic. Astor called upon the full power of Keld and every Keldon and channeled it through his mind directly into Skouras's. This had the rather spectacular effect of exploding the dragon's head. Although Letha was left a scorched-out ruin, the Lethans survived and joined Astor in becoming part of Keld.[1]
