Yello is a Swiss electronica/technopop band whose songs "Desire" ("Killshot"), "Call It Love" ("Contempt of Court"), "Si Senor the Hairy Grill", "Moon on Ice" ("The Rising Sun of Death") and "Hawaiian Chance" ("Indian Wars") appeared in the show Miami Vice.

Career

Yello was formed by Boris Blank and Carlos Peron in 1979, later adding vocalist Deiter Meier for their first album, 1980's Solid Pleasure (featuring "I.T. Splash" and the hit dance song "Bostich"). Their 1983 album You Gotta Say Yes To Another Excess (featuring "I Love You" and "Lost Again") was the last with founding member Peron, as he left to pursue a solo career. Their 1985 album Stella brought Yello into the mainstream, as it featured their song "Oh Yeah", which has been used in countless movies, TV shows, and commercials, as well as "Desire". 1987's One Second featured "Call It Love", "Si Senor the Hairy Grill", "Moon on Ice" and "Hawaiian Chance" and was their highest charting album on Billboard's Top 200, reaching #98. They released eight more albums from 1989-2020 without much commercial success, but they did create soundtrack albums to the movies Nuns on the Run and The Adventures of Ford Fairlane, as well as a version of "Jingle Bells" for The Santa Clause. The group continues to record music, but do not tour much.
