VS. SA-X[1] is a music theme from Metroid Fusion. It was composed by Minako Hamano and Akira Fujiwara.
Description
VS. SA-X, as indicated by the title, plays during the boss fight against the SA-X on the Operations Deck, and by extension its mutated and Core-X forms. VS. SA-X is an intense high-energy track. It is short, however, and loops every 13-14 seconds. It stops playing when the SA-X's Core-X flees the room.
VS. SA-X is stylistically and instrumentally similar to the frantic chase theme from SA-X Appears, although it does appear to share the same melody.

Trivia
- VS. SA-X is the only English track title on the Metroid Prime & Fusion Original Soundtracks, since it is comprised entirely of punctuation and English letters.
- Vs. SA-X is one of the few tracks missing from the Prototype builds, implying it was created much later in development. In its place was a placeholder string of beeps and boops.[2]
- Very curiously, the string of beeps and boops slightly resembles the opening of "Eye of the Tiger" by Survivor and may have been an inside easter egg by developers.
