A Tobio[1] (トビオ) is a gliding bat-like creature found in Artaria and Cataris on ZDR.
Description
Tobios have green wings and long, black bodies. They launch out of holes in the ceiling to glide into the ground, into which they burrow. This makes them similar to the Rock Icicles on SR388, but with more horizontal movement.
When a Tobio launches, dust begins to form around its launch point. As it emerges, its wings spread out for a split second, before retracting. A Tobio can be killed by any attack from Samus, including a standing Melee Counter or Dash Melee.
Later, Tobios are infected by the X Parasites, but this does not change their appearance or enhance them in any way.

- "Rockdiver" is the title of this creature's model in Metroid Dread's files. This title is notably similar to the Rock Icicles of Metroid II: Return of Samus, which fill a similar role in gameplay.
