Steve McCrea is a British video game engineer currently based in the United States. McCrea was a senior engineer at Retro Studios for all three games in the Prime Series - Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, the New Play Control! ports of Prime and Echoes, and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. He is now the Senior AI Engineer at Armature Studio, a Texas-based studio formed by former Retro employees.
According to Jack Mathews, either McCrea or Alex Quinones created the PAS4 format inside ANCS, a set of animation files in Prime.[1]
