A standee is a large self-standing display used to promote a film, event or video game. They are often made of foam-board, and may range from large self-standing posters to elaborate three-dimensional displays. Standees have been used to promote Metroid games in the past, always depicting Samus Aran using the respective game's artwork. These standees would appear inside game stores and at Nintendo events. Some of them are now collector's items.
