Staffroll[1] is a music theme from Metroid Dread. It was composed by Soshi Abe, Sayako Doi, or both.
Description
As the name might imply, this theme plays during the game's staff credits. It continues the tradition first implemented by Hirokazu Tanaka in the original Metroid, where the music in a game's ending brings levity after a mostly brooding and atmospheric soundtrack.
Staffroll begins with a triumphant march that prominently features trumpets and drums, celebrating Samus Aran's victory over the X Parasites and Raven Beak. It later transitions into a serene melody played on a piano alongside high-pitched bells and strings. The aforementioned orchestral march finally picks up again before the track ends.
A short and remixed version of the orchestral parts of this theme, titled Endscreen[1], plays on the Mission Final screen which displays statistics related to the finished playthrough. It continues to play when viewing any newly unlocked Ending Rewards, and is also used for the results screen after a Boss Rush or a practice battle. In this respect, it serves a similar role to Record of Samus from earlier games; Endscreen's instrumentation even resembles to the version of that theme from Metroid: Samus Returns.
