The Helm controls in Samus Aran's Gunship are what allow her to lay in a course and fly to a planet or spacecraft. It is a gameplay element in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. The controls are represented by a large, holographic orange panel that depicts the gunship and emits a beeping sound. Samus can interface with it like a Hand Scanner, turning the panel green and automatically setting a destination course. At the beginning of the game, she is required to do so in order to approach the G.F.S. Olympus for identity verification. After this, Samus uses the helm controls many times as she will need to frequently travel between worlds during her mission. They are situated in front of her seat.
