A Flitt is an amoeba-like organism found only on SR388, seen in Metroid II: Return of Samus.
Description
Flitts are harmless creatures that cannot cause damage. Therefore, Samus Aran can safely use them as platforms when jumping across pools of purple liquid in Phase 6, the only known habitat of Flitts.
They will appear for a short amount of time, then will suddenly vanish, both visually and physically; this can sometimes be the cause of frustration when attempting to use them as platforms. Several of them, however, do not disappear, but move side-to-side, serving as moving platforms.

Trivia
- It is unknown if the Flitt species was infected by the X Parasites, as Samus never encountered any Flitts in Metroid Fusion. The Yamebas are similar creatures, though they are more likely related to Meboids.
- Flitts do not appear in Metroid: Samus Returns.
