Infinity

Metalions Infinity

Infinity is the combined form of Taurus, Leo, Aries, Scorpio, and Ursa. This mech utilizes a giant hammer to eliminate every opponent in its path, though it's also skilled at hand-to-hand combat.

It also doesn't actually have a consistent finisher.

Differences from Biklonz

Comparison-infinity

Despite the fact that design-wise, the only major change for Infinity was a new coat of paint, it has a very different feel to it between Biklonz and Metalions. The reason for this is that Metalions messes with the proportions of Infinity's various parts, shrinking some parts while scaling others up, so that it can feel like more of a lighter battler that can zoom around without causing massive amounts of collateral damage.

The Infinite Crusher is now named the Wild Hammer, and resembles the Infinite Crusher present in the Biklone Infinity 5-pack instead of the one shown in Biklonz. As there is no equivalent to the Infinite Control in Metalions, the hammer doesn't get massively huge; instead, its effectiveness lies in powerful shockwave attacks. It is also now Infinity's only offensive attack option beyond just punches and kicks as there is also no equivalent to Aldebaran Infinity. Though this iteration of Infinity also doesn't have the Star Shield, it is able to block enemy attacks by doing some earth-bending and making giant boulders rise from the ground.

Infinity acts as one mind controlling the entire mech instead of up to ten, so fewer mishaps are likely to occur in battle, though conversely, fewer moments of solid cooperation are likely to occur either.

As the above image indicates, Metalions lifts every motion of Infinity's combination sequence from Biklonz. Though this also occurs for Cross Attacker and Thunder Guardian, some inaccuracies are present in both, while Infinity's stock footage is much more in sync; the latter also applies to Barbarian King. In fact, the sequence is so well-recreated that they show Ursa's chestplate opening up despite the fact that Metalions chooses to have that closed up for some reason.

Toys

  • Unlike the Biklonz toyline, there was never any 5-pack release for the DX version of Infinity, meaning that it can only be formed by collecting the 5 units individually. Doing so creates a recolored version of Biklone Infinity, with the significant recolors being restricted to the individual components themselves. Due to the lack of the 5-pack release, there is no way to obtain a Metalions version of the Infinite Crusher/Wild Hammer, though it's most likely possible to use the Biklonz version as a replacement if one is inclined to do so since the molds are the same. All sounds are removed from this version of Infinity.

They did, however, make a 5-pack for the five mini toys of the individual components. Buying either the individual minis or this 5-pack will allow you to form a smaller, simplified version of Infinity. Leo's wing-blades can be attached to Infinity's shoulders.

Trivia

Comparison-infinity2
  • Instead of using a render from Metalions, for whatever reason, Young Toys decided to recolor an old render from Biklonz for their promotional material. The recoloring itself is fine, but the different textures really stand out.
