Vandar

This article is about the alternate reality immortal, Vandar. You may be looking for his primary universe counterpart, Flint, and alternate reality counterpart Vandal Savage.
Vandar

In an alternate reality, Vandar was a human conqueror, an immortal born in the Stone Age on Earth, and living through countless centuries. By the 23rd century, he had become leader of an empire—the Imperial Planets, which expanded throughout the Milky Way Galaxy. James T. Kirk and Garth Ranzz recognized as him as a counterpart to immortals from their own realities, Flint and Vandal Savage respectively, a version of the man that existed before their realities had diverged.

Biography

Originally calling himself "Vandar the Stone", Vandar Adg managed to trick and trap Q, using the entity's powers to bend reality to his will and quickly expand his conquests. Vandar's empire first began to take shape during the 5th century BCE and eventually began spreading outwards from Earth. By the 23rd century, Vandar's empire held dominion over half of the galaxy. To ensure his rule remained uncontested, Vandar had any time travellers brought to him so he could interrogate them while their time vessels were impounded.

When the crew of the USS Enterprise and the Legion of Super-Heroes arrived at his palace, Vandar hosted them before subjecting them agony boothes, engaging in a philosophical argument with James T. Kirk about their philosophy of the future. At the same time, another group of Enterprise crewmen and Legionnaires travelled back to the Stone Age and managed to free Q, undoing Vandar's reign.

In the 23rd century of the primary universe, Q visited Flint on Holberg 917G to discuss the immortal time's as Vandar and how he'd changed since then. (TOS - Legion of Super-Heroes comics: "Issue 1", "Issue 4", "Issue 5", "Issue 6")
